THE GIRLZ STUFF WHO ARE 7 of them first came into the public eye in Produce 101 (PD101), a competition among 101 trainees to debut for one year in the temporary 11-member group IOI. here is their first performance on the show (bang by after school) and the edited version with reactions if you're interested. anyway, to cut the long story short, nayoung and jieqiong made it into the final group (IOI) and have been promoting as IOI members ever since the end of the show. meanwhile, after a period of waiting for absolutely nothing from the @pledisgirlz twitter, it was announced that they would be holding weekly concerts. some of what they did at the concerts (each one was about an hour and a half):
each week one member also got a solo day and there are now official uploads of the solos over here (youtube playlist in the order they were uploaded). THEY ARE ALL GREAT but some notable covers are:

besides being "emotionless", nayoung's other defining characteristics are consistency and diligence. she literally got no sleep at all during one of the missions for pd101 and just took 2-3 IV drips to rework the entire choreo for the routine the next day, drew out a whole schedule for them before they even started on work, and the IOIs sometimes say that she hounds them not to play around during practice time. she's just a very practical person and a bit of a Stick In The Mud on the surface, if you will. however!! if u look a little deeper nayoung is actually super earnest and hardworking and sincere that it can come off as ridiculous sometimes, like when she handed out these flyers asking her juniors from her school to vote for her and used a preview photo on the flyer LOL. she's also a really warm and caring person (for example she took kyla under her wing when she first came to korea) and is loved by both the Girlz [especially jieqiong] and the IOIs. lastly, nayoung is a steady leader in Pledis Girlz (and in IOI) and literally calls them her kids/children. you can tell how important she is to all of them when she thanked kyungwon and minkyung for taking care of "the kids" while she was gone and they started sobbing on-stage ;__; she also takes a lot of pride and responsibility in her position as a leader and in her job in general -- she was SHOOK when this hidden camera prank happened and i think she really tries her best to make everyone feel comfortable and valued in the team in her own classic nayoung way. for more nayoung content: @stoneyfan @imnayoungintl '97 MINKYUNG  
but irl she is a mess!!!! she's really clumsy and a little overbearingly sweet, gives the best hugs and is a bit of a pushover. maybe more than a bit. the members consistently say that she has a cold/aloof first impression but then found out that she's just a really warm and and kind person (as confirmed by lee suhyun). she is also apparently very dateable. and far be it be beyond her to lay down the cheese! as a new college student, minkyung is now hashtag relatable. before she was a college student she was also hashtag relatable because she apparently overslept to the point where she missed her exams... minkyung can't keep track of school and classes but probably has a log book of all of the Girlz's problems n worries! she is incredibly soft hearted and is a violent crier (u know the type). as usually comes with these traits, she is also easily startled. as the 2nd eldest, she was basically in charge of taking care of the other 7 kids along with kyungwon and this has spawned countless memes of miserable minkyung. but in reality she loves them v much and has talked about how she would like to turn them into animals (this clip is TRULY PRICELESS). minkyung is really the funniest sweetest nicest person ever i know i'm underselling it so you just have to see for yourself!!!! for more minkyung content: @Archive4Kmg @wonder_kmg KYUNGWON  
anyway, kyungwon rarely speaks unless called upon but when she does everything that she says is truly golden. in one of their first concerts, siyeon called on kyungwon to answer a question during the q&a segment and kyungwon accidentally replied "yeoboseyo" (what u used to answer phone calls) and it became a meme among the girls and fans. when asked to say three words to the member beside her, kyungwon: kim. min. kyung. when asked when she feels most beautiful... u gotta click this. (ft. kyungwon's mom) kyungwon is the 97line unnie along with minkyung, and i think she's done a really great job alongside minky in taking on the mantle of temporary leader. for one, kyungwon is a really caring person -- when they were given a break to go back home, kyungwon brought kyla and jieqiong (who have no family in korea) back to gwangju with her and gave them a tour of the city and invited them to stay with her, and hopes to do it for all the members in the future. kyungwon also dropped the random "princess" bomb during their concert when she told siyeon not to get hurt and siyeon was like she calls me princess all the time~ she's really quiet but constant and i can't imagine pledis girlz without her passing judgment on them from where she is all the way at the side. also, in more hashtag relatable news, kyungwon has been named by a credible external source as the member out of 101 girls that cries the hardest, and if she's not crying, she's sleeping. kyungwon is a bit less known both in korea and internationally, possibly because she's so quiet and possibly because she didn't get a lot of screentime in pd101 -- in any case, she's not really there in the top few popular members which i think kyungwon is really okay with to some extent. she's just happy there chillin out with her keyboard and having fun with the nine of them even if she refuses to skip practice for frivolous reasons! kyungwon wants to "spend their lives together❤_❤" and it's so simple and so sweet i hope the people who have not noticed her will joyonghi open their eyes soon! for more kyungwon content: @kyungwonnabe @kyungwon_th '98 EUNWOO  
she's been on 3 survival shows (superstar k, the voice kids, pd101) and is finally getting ready to DEBUT! most of the time eunwoo is a huge goofball and doesn't take most things seriously. she's also really haphazard and clumsy and forgetful and never stops talking. in this v app she just goes off for 5 minutes about herself and tricked everyone into thinking it was an individual v app because she's a mess. but when it comes down to saying goodbye to minkyung and kyungwon or nayoung and jieqiong or singing songs about her mom, things get a bit more teary. for that reason (that eunwoo is so completely open with her emotions -- even jealousy), she's managed to gain a lot more fans through her pd101 run and beyond. beyond how emotional she is eunwoo is just caring in her own way -- no one has managed to escape talking about eunwoo in their v apps just because eunwoo pervades and brightens all their lives with her energy and bad jokes (nayoung chose eunwoo to swop personalities with). amidst all of this eunwoo is actually really thoughtful (she brings kyla out for lunch on the weekends, told the fans every single week that they were 10 and not 7 members now, specifically finds the fan that submitted the post-it in the crowd and addresses them directly). of the things to be quiet about, she isn't loud about her thoughtfulness. of course, eunwoo does have her own troubles and she talked about it quite candidly to nayoung and jieqiong when she went over to visit their dorm -- even during the pd101 interviews she told them she'd thought about giving up but wouldn't know what else to do because singing is what lifts her out from rock bottom. i adore watching eunwoo sing because she loves singing and throws everything she has into every song and it shows on her entire face. eunwoo can get a bit overboard with the dramatics sometimes but the girlz are somewhat used to it, i think, and they accept it as part of what she is and embrace it. she's also constantly texting them to annoy them and pulling yewon to talk to her at night when she can't sleep, she's just that sort of infectious over-energized person that they really need to keep going. if you do end up watching the individual v apps eunwoo has caused something called the bounce wink to spread in the practice room and it is absolutely horrible... i'll just end with this ridiculous story as an example of how eunwoo makes everyone feel included in the strangest and yet cutest ways yewon: i didn't know this but i sleep-talk, so one day while i was sleeping apparently i just turned to eunwoo-unnie and whispered "bye" into her ear. when i woke up in the morning i didn't remember any of it, but from then on everyone started coming to me and saying "bye, bye"... for more eunwoo content: @smooth criminal @under controlYEBIN  
according to yebin, she started out as a singer and one day when one of the rappers who was supposed to rap on a track nayoung was singing on was unavailable, yebin just decided to volunteer. because of that her interest in rapping grew and she did "tomorrow" by tablo at an evaluation and decided to focus on rapping instead. i genuinely think how this went about says a lot about yebin as a person lmao she's very spontaneous and always looking for shortcuts or jumping from idea to idea -- not to be lazy, more that i just think she's a very results-focused person and cares a little bit less about the process. while she was talking about her rap-writing process she was kind of just like "oh... i know there's mind maps and everything but i just keep it all in my head and when i feel like writing i'll write it" she's famous for her time on pd101 for this iconic savage line "you should go online to vote for yourself" made during the stage comments for their first challenge, that was kind of when you knew she wasn't one to mince words. that's not to say that yebin is unkind -- her straightforwardness translates to complimenting and taking care of people as well and a lot of conflicts blow over very quickly. here is her and jeon soyeon together at the finale stage putting their weird turtle ship performance drama behind. anyway yebin just kind of does whatever she wants which is why her v app was the longest of them all, she wrote one rap dedicated to her phone (she wrote an entire letter to her phone when she lost her phone abt how she would not fall in love so easily again....yebin..........) and another to her fans, and owns the stage every single time she steps out (an old clip w/ seventeen -- she's the one in pink). im sorry i keep remembering other things about yebin but she really wrote good vibes only in her good luck letter to sungyeon with no context whatsoever. oh ya... one last thing... yebin has a lot of nicknames but the most popular is kong (beans in korean) because her name is yebin(bean)... i know... just go with it for more yebin content: @kangyebin_th @babwithbeans JIEQIONG

for someone who smiles so much yewon does not... talk much. it's probably due to nerves because she was basically completely unknown until the concerts started, but it's still really cute to watch her struggle with things like M/Cing while siyeon is out here acting like she's been doing it for years. here she is trying to do fanservice.... luv u young and new-to-fanservice one. yewon is really still so awkward she just stands around and smiles as things (eunwoo) zoom across her, and is the truly relatable member of pledis girlz yewon is a really really charismatic performer (on the left), i'd say probably better than most of the girls that got on pd101 so as u already know... talent does not always win. yewon was also left out of this vocal cover it really has nothing to do with her but i want to complain about it somewhere so there it is. because she wasn't on pd101 i think performing is really a dream for her, and she gets so easily overwhelmed by big occasions -- here is her literally sobbin while singing at a concert which was streamed on v live so fans around the world were sobbing with her. me 2 yewon she is also very sporty, something that she is proud of (while she was talking about this on the v live her smile got even BIGGER if u didn't think it was possible). she likes running and is the master of the palm pushing game, but kept losing at this chicken game that they used to play together in the practice room because eunwoo wants to win all the time and hates nice things. she is eunwoo's number 1 victim because they are in the same room so eunwoo talks to her until she's tired and they fall asleep. this is also probably why yewon chose eunwoo as the person she would date if she was a guy (LOL). recently yewon just eavedrops on the other members and when they ask her to come over she says no... because outside the covers it's dangerous. someone in the v app was like "hello frm brazil" and as u know, yewon being yewon, went "oi! oi! that's portugese right?" yewon can also sing in english really well (before she revealed that she just really likes english as a subject i suspected that she'd studied abroad). QUEEN OF LANGUAGES. ZHOU JIEQIONG OVER. tl;dr if u like sunshine u will like yewon SUNGYEON  
i think out of all the girlz, sungyeon is easily the most easy-going and friendly. it wasn't easy literally working from nothing (no one knew who the pledis girlz were when she was on girls spirit, much less who she was) but she never let any of it bother her and just worked hard on each stage, which is why this voice crack probably hurt that much more, but she dusted it off and recovered and carried on! she is really too nice which is why she is constantly suffering because of minkyung and eunwoo. ENOUGH! LEAVE HER ALONE! fight back sungyeon! call eunwoo out on her voice crack during fingertips! she's a lot more fluent in korean than kyla (even though she still thinks in english -- apparently she and jieqiong talk about this a lot) maybe because she moved to korea really early as well -- her family is living there now. she, jieqiong and siyeon (siyeon was BORN in pledis) were the original three before the other members started joining the agency, so she's been there a very long time. other people in their v apps complain about how they're boring or have no time to see the fans but sungyeon is just telling viewers about how she understands school life is tiring and draining and encouraging them to keep going... queen of empathy. have i mentioned that she is the BIG BRAIN behind their self-composed song so if u enjoyed hajima and we this girl right here is that. source of your enjoyment. i think she really is the catalyst of the team -- she's always smiling in a mild sort of way and makes everyone around her very comfortable. every v app with her is a genuine riot, idk how she does it but the people around her get so comfortable that they start saying all sorts of things that they really shouldn't. while i don't endorse this... here she and yebin are...dabbing.. yebin is constantly calling her "my bae". yeah... if these don't show u who she is then nothing will. for more sungyeon content: @envision_you (dont quote me but this is the best fansite, other fansites WISH) @baeshannonpics '00 (the TWO THOUSANDS...) she also did whatever she wanted -- or if u are into that theory whatever the company tells her to do -- in pd101 she had primarily been focusing on rap prior to being chosen to a song with no rapping and became their main vocal (LOL...when will anyone else). after that she just kept singing and rapped a bit in yum yum (after which she got eliminated), but basically everyone agrees that she was good at singing...maybe better at singing. here she is singing the little prince -- it is one of my fav clips from the concerts bc she gets so shy when people ask her to sing even though she busted her lungs singing on pd101. now that u have convinced urself that siyeon is a real trooper u must understand that she is really a giant softie. here she is trying not to cry after they called her name during eliminations. here she is trying not to cry while she calls her mom (she: its all good her mom: why are you crying? she: (crying) no? im not crying?). we are sensing a pattern here. siyeon is really one of the most interesting of the bunch (if not the most interesting) because she is pretty much everyone's sunbae -- she has been there since she was 7 years old and was featured in a bunch of after school MVs and waited, and waited. even though she's really whiny and annoying with the rest of them (which is quite obviously fanservice even though you know they're very close) you can also tell that she has this sort of gravitas and maturity that no 16 year old should possess. someone asked her how she writes her raps well and she waid she has a baby sister whom she tucks into bed and reads stories to at night, so maybe that's why (;_________;). siyeon is a very straight thinker and talker and got into trouble for that during pd101 -- when one of her teammates started crying without an explanation she was literally like "why... why is she crying" and got thrown under the bus with the editing. i think that's the part of siyeon that she'll have to watch out for in the future because she's almost a bit too sharp-talking sometimes. it's not that she has no filter, it's just that she doesn't want to use it. i have no basis for this but siyeon is probably the type of person that is fiercely protective of the people she loves and doesn't really care about anyone else... she gets along well enough with a lot of people (somi and her were quite close on pd101 for example) but she probably measures loyalty with how well/long she has known someone. siyeon is also a major taeyeon stan...all the way back to when she had the equivalent of ask.fm and said taeyeon is her favourite singer lol. but siyeon and eunwoo (number one jessica stan) are rly close so as u know... they are the picture of being over stan wars!! i just also wanna slip in that during the first concert, siyeon chose yewon as the person she'd want to date if she were a guy. make of that what u will! for more siyeon content: @kimcloud_ @mas_pldz '01 (ya i know)   KYLA
we don't know much abt kyla because she doesn't speak much on stage but we know enough to know that kyla is ...teenager personified. she's so funny she posted this whole diary entry about seeing her fav singer at a concert and another one about seeing her family. kyla probably got to go home because they're debuting soon and she won't get to go home for a while but sungyeon missed her THAT much. chill. her rap lyrics are about being misunderstood but she will rise stronger than ever and prove her haters wrong. YES KYLA. she has grown a lot since the start of the concerts where she looked hella awkward, now she still looks a bit awkward but a lot less hella awkward that before, so i'll take it as i get it. she still struggles a bit with korean but i don't think that's the reason she speaks very slowly -- she just seems like an extremely calm person and a bit introverted and awkward and it's so funny to watch... she just drops random bombs like "unnie i drew a heart because i love the person im drawing" and eunwoo just SHUTS UP bc she has no idea what to say. she also thinks through things very clearly before she speaks -- someone asked her which of the elder ones take care of her the most and she said "all in different ways", and rather than just peacing out of there like siyeon would she laid out each person and how they look after her one by one. in her v app she read english comments and answered them both in english and korean for everyone to hear. she's really the calm anchor (other than nayoung) that pledis girlz needs bc the rest of them are really just balls of noise. kyla is their queen of nicknames. ila (just bc it sounds nice), chunja (by jung eunwoo). ila-man (newly coined by kyungwon). the story of chunja cracks me up every time because it just exemplifies how irritating eunwoo is. apparently one night kyla sent a text to eunwoo saying "kyla-chun.. ja?" which is short form for kyla r u sleeping. kyla being the still learning korean baby she asked "what's chun ja" and eunwoo EXPLODED... they have been calling kyla chunja ever since. kyla is really close to yewon ever since they met 3 years ago and promised each other they would debut together... yes... but really all of them baby her beyond belief but she is too nice to take advantage of it "everyone... how can u be... so nice" LOL siyeon would NEVER! kyla is the teenager member we deserve -- mature beyond her years for unnies that are... not... mature. for more kyla content: @MyKylaTH @kylapics @this roleplay tumblr...
